Biography
Prof. Kumar is a molecular cancer biologist with a particular focus on breast cancer progression. Overall, Prof. . Kumar has made conceptual advances in connecting extracellular signaling to gene expression to cancer phenotypes, and paved the way for new directions in biomedical research. Prof. Kumar’s research has illustrated in 16 Covers in the major Cancer Research journals. He has received several awards for his research work. Prof. Kumar has authored over 292 peer-reviewed articles, and Edited or Co-Edited 6 Books/Volumes in the areas of cancer signaling and therapeutics. Prof. Kumar has trained about 70 students, fellows and junior faculty, and was actively involved in training and mentoring physician-scientists. Prof. Kumar has shared his knowledge by delivering about 230 invited, keynote or plenary lectures at academic institutions, and national and international scientific conferences. Prof. Kumar has been serving on multiple peer-review national and international funding panels, and on the editorial boards of leading cancer journals.

Mechanisms of breast cancer progression and metastasis, and hormone-independence with a special emphasis on phenotypic signaling, chromatin remodeling, and targeted therapeutics
